The Stories that Support or Buffer Adaptation
Two story plots that buffer the process of emotions are placed on different parts of the model. The detached story plot (Figure 1 & 2 light shaded colour) provides a detached description of events. Whilst the comic story plot (Figure 1&2 darker shaded colour) provides a reconsideration of how to view it and a break for a potentially dominating negative experience of suffering. The detached story plot provides distance to what has happen, a psychological step back and detachment from the suffering as the reader describes events in a non-emotive way. People use comedy found within the event or circumstances which provide an alternative view.
